I was fortunate enough to find a set of UM grips on e-bay, whether you find them there or not, they are a must have.

I shot a 98 out of a 100 on our day course. But, only an 85 on the night course. Those six ports shoot up a 2 foot flame and it is a little distracting at first. I did better after I got used to it, but it caused me to throw a few round a little high. I am very happy with it overall and I recommend the UL 85 to anyone that wants a light, easy shooting gun.

Hickoryswitch,
how about an update on how you have been liking your model 85, also I am interested in whether or not you have replaced the factory rubber grips.

I reaaly love my Taurus M 85. I carry it on duty all the time on an ankle rig. The only drawback is ths grip(for easy reloads). I have been looking for a nice UM replacement, but money is tight right now. If I find one on ebay, I might try to get it at a nice price.
PS: FYI Norf, I still cannot post on the swap shop. Shoot me a pm to see what the problem is.

We had combat shooting at the range the other day and I took the extra time to re-qualify with my M 85 Ultra lite again. I really love it. As with the first time I qualified with it, the factory grips hinder the speed loaders when you try to load it. I still shot a 92 and was happy with the overall performance. I used Remington 125 grain semi-jacketed hollow points. Great little round with a lot of zip, but not as brutal on the wrist. I still had a small cut on my trigger finger after qualification though. Great revolver.
