2G P3AT Compared to Other .380s Jan. 2006 A wetpack test to compare the 2G P3AT with rounded off ears on the feed ramp with other handguns is shown here. Only a few types of ammo were included as shown in the photo. This test was not to compare ammo but to compare the P3AT with other pistols in the same category. We threw in the 38special to see how much better it would be. My grandson did the shooting while we were at the farm since the regular range is closed for the winter. Amazing how well the P3AT stood up against the others!! Conclusions: The 2dGen P3AT is a good pistol and excellent for CCW use for us civilians. LEO's will probably disagree and want something bigger. By allowing the trigger to reset forward after each shot, there will be no misfires. We had no malfunctions during this test with 4 magazine loads fired. The assembly pin did not work out (great!!). And no worry about rimlock either! There still is a concern with the magazine provided. You may get a good one with your P3AT and not have Smileys. With ValuPac ammo (the Win 100rd box) even a light smiley hit will cause setback and unknown pressure increase. I'll do more wetpack tests later, but the Remington GoldenSaber 102gr JHP ammo seems like an excellent choice for CCW carry in this pistol. Cheers, og
