Maybe 2 years back I snagged a used Undercover (38 spec) at a local gun show for a very fair price of $160, out the door. It has seen some use and a little abuse but proved to be a very good shooter. The ejector rod cap was missing. Soon thereafter, I took some pics of the gun and emailed them to CA CS asking exactly what parts I needed. I never got a response and eventually that issue made it to the back burner. I shot the gun like that. Since there is a thumb lever to swing the cylinder out, the ejector rod cap was more of a luxury - you could still eject the spent rounds. Fast forward a few months, digging through the FAQs on the CA site I found exactly what I needed: . Can I replace a missing piece on the end of the ejector rod? A. Yes, but you are actually missing three parts: ejector rod head, ejector rod collar, and ejector rod collar spring. When ordering, please indicate black or stainless finish and caliber. Not having ever heard back from my email to CA I priced the parts online at a couple of places and they would have cost about $35 shipped. Before ordering from Numrich I decided to give CA another shot so I called customer service. The guy that answered was friendly and helpful with somewhat sarcastic sense of humor. I told him what I needed and had a credit card ready. Then I gave him the model number and asked when the gun was built. He said 1980. I asked if that was a good year and he said that was a really good revolver and remarked that the only ones that had a few issues were from the Charco era (mid-90s, IIRC), and even they were generally decent guns. I thanked him and remarked that I hoped the parts wouldn't cost me an arm or a leg. Jokingly, he said if I promised to stop bothering him he'd keep the charges nominal. He took my name and address and said he'd ship them out that day. I asked if he needed my credit card number and he said that wouldn't be necessary. 3 days later the parts were in my mailbox. The only pics I have of the revolver were taken before the parts were installed. Maybe I'll take some more and post one up. So I guess Charter Arms is similar to Kel-tec in that sometimes email may not be their forte. However, get them on the phone and they have some excellent customer service. I fully expected to pay for the parts in this 29 year old revolver that I purchased used. It's good to see an American gun manufacture stand behind their product. Sending out free parts under these circumstances was above and beyond the call of duty.

I agree - It's very nice to them take care of you like that. And you're right, they're like Kel-Tec's email responsiveness. When I sent in my SUB2000 to them to fix the barrel, I emailed them about a week after I got the delivery confirmation just asking if they had any questions and est. day of repair. I received the rifle back in perfect working order about a week after my email. 3 months after that, I got an email from Kel-Tec asking me for the date that I shipped the rifle to them!
