I bought a new Kahr P380 based on the good reviews etc...
I have sent it back to Kahr 3 times for having light primer strikes. Just received it back this morning. SAME PROBLEM (yes, I am screaming).
This is what I do, I lock the slide back, insert a magazine with 6 round. Using the slide release lever, I release the slide to load the chamber. Pull the trigger and 1st round gave the continued pattern of a light primer strike. I tried PMC ball, Golden Saber, and Hydra-Shock all new and in factory boxes. All brand gave a shallow primer indention and failure to fire..
I have spoken to Jason, Ian Burr and Joe Mayo in customer service. All three say the gun works perfectly for them. Joe did change his story yesterday by saying that he had trouble with failure to feed so he replaced the barrel. The previous 2 times this gun was sent in, they replaced various parts in in the slide. This included a brand new slide and parts.
I specifically pressed Joe Mayo to install a new trigger bar and cocking cam. He said that a failure to fire was purely in the top end and there would be nothing gained by changing any parts in the plastic frame. I said I would pay for a new plastic frame, but he said they can not sell me a new frame.
So here I sit with a gun that has been sent in 3 times and I can not get it to fire. Well it does sometimes fire after pushing, tugging etc.... but then in the middle of a magazine it will stop....AAAGGGGGHHHH
What do you suggest that I do?

So that I won't get labeled as a KAHR basher, I will add that I have a PM9 and would love to have this p380 work....I could sell or trade it to some poor innocent person, but I have a code of ethics that began with this other fella who went around saying "Do to others as you would have them do to you".
I want my Kahr P380 to work and I do not know what to do. If you have any advice as to my next step i would most appreciate it.

Bad deal for sure! From your description it seems what is happening is when you pull the trigger it does not pull the striker spring full cocked and just releases the partially cocked striker, giving the light strike. The striker is partially cocked when the slide cycles to chamber a round. Then when the trigger is pulled it's supposed to pull the striker the rest of the way, finally releasing it. For some reason the cam in yours is not doing that. Disassemble the pistol and look at the back of the frame where there are supposed to be 2 small cam like things sticking up. Pull the trigger and see if both of them move. One is supposed to pull back which pull back on the striker. I don't know what to tell you how to describe if they are working properly. But you should try calling Kahr again and tell them the problem is still there. Perhaps your dealer could help too. og

One more thing. Somewhere it says not to use any oil on the striker. If there is excess oil there it will make it sticky and slow it down.
You could try taking the slide off and squirt some bore solvent into the striker. The get it all out using one of those canned air blowers. Use the tube and blow into the firing pin hole on the bolt face too.
Just a suggestion.

Hi, fastgun, I just read your thread at the KahrTalkforum about your problem. I do hope you will try cleaning the striker with solvent and blow it dry. That was also suggested at that forum.
Might also help to dry fire with a "snap cap" if you can get one.
Otherwise, hope you will post again here with any progress on the problem.
Not that many people here with P380's. You might also post your problem on the GlockTalk Kahr forum.
Cheers, og
