Some big discrepanicies in his ammo tests are apparent. He only got about 6" penetration with Speer GoldDot using the .380. That makes no sense comparied to recent wetpack tests and even good gelatin tests by brassfetcher and goldenloki.

So, based on newer, better ammo now available for the .380, my opinion is that for a pocket pistol a .380 with modern ammo is fine for self defense, based on your good marksmanship!
